Exchange Conference Taps FieldView CSO for DOE Data Center Energy Training

Insights on Regulations, Changing Technologies and Expense Management

Edison, N.J. – June 9, 2011FieldView Solutions, a provider of industry-leading data center infrastructure management (DCIM) software, today announced that David Schirmacher, Vice President of 7×24 Exchange International and Chief Strategy Officer for FieldView Solutions, will be a featured speaker at 7×24 Exchange Spring ’11 Conference, “Emerging Trends,” Orlando, FL, June 12-15, 2011.  Schirmacher will be an associate presenter of the DOE Data Center Energy Practitioner (DCEP) Training and Certification Exam on June 12, 8AM -5PM, as well as moderate the End-User Interactive Exchange Luncheon on June 13 at 12PM.  FieldView Solutions will also showcase its DCIM solutions at the show, Booth # 70.

“Since 7×24 Exchange is a leading knowledge exchange organization for those in the Mission Critical community, what better place to discuss energy efficiency in Data Centers?” said David Schirmacher, Chief Strategy Office, FieldView Solutions. “Specific training is required to be able to assess energy usage accurately.”

The DCEP Training and certification workshop is a collaborative effort of the Department of Energy and the 7×24 Exchange. The DOE Save Energy Now program has partnered with the industry to develop a process leading to practitioners qualified to evaluate the energy status and efficiency opportunities in data centers. Driven by the fact that significant knowledge, training and skills are required to perform accurate energy assessments, The DCEP Program is ideal for employees of property management companies, engineering consulting firms, service companies, data center end users, energy agencies, colleges, and utility company representatives.

Those interested in participating in the workshop are required by the DOE to have minimum experience and educational criteria and must complete a qualification form and be pre-approved prior to the event.  For additional information including the Program Description, Training Agenda, and Qualification Criteria visit: http://www.7x24exchange.org/spring11/schedule.htm

“Escalating data center operational costs are unnecessarily impacting the bottom line,” continued Schirmacher. “Companies can gain insight and control of their costs via data center software that not only provides real-time data center management, but also saves time by automating many associated management tasks.”
