ACS, A Xerox Company, selects Nlyte Software’s Data Centre Performance Management (DCPM) Suite to Drive Green Data Centre Programme
Nlyte to help ACS maximise data centre efficiency and performance while driving down carbon emissions and energy consumption
LONDON, UK – 26 May 2010 – nlyte Software, a leading provider of Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM) solutions, today announced that ACS, A Xerox Company, selected the nlyte® DCPM Suite to drive their green data centre programme.
The purchase decision was driven by ACS’ goal of providing innovative and competitive outsourcing solutions to their customers, leading to a plan to consolidate their EMEA data centre estate into a smaller number of highly efficient, modular data centres. To minimise carbon emissions to meet the UK’s CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme legislative requirements and address environmental concerns meant the new data centre had to utilise the latest power management technologies and best practice management processes.
“As part of our plan to deliver IT services to our customers in the most effective and environmentally sustainable way, we decided that we needed a data centre infrastructure management tool” said Alan Brooks, Managing Director, UK ITO Operations, ACS. “The introduction of business intelligence-based DCIM processes will enable us to better manage our customers’ IT requirements and build an on-going relationship with them”.
The nlyte software was installed at ACS’ new flagship data centre in Telford, UK which opened in March 2010. The solution will be used to drive compliance and governance-based processes for management of all data centre assets. It will also deliver a completely integrated end-to end sales and delivery process matching data centre capacity and capability to business needs. At the core of this data centre enablement process, nlyte will ensure complete alignment between sales opportunities and data centre assets from the provision of customised floor plan designs for sales proposals through to on-going service delivery processes.
The plan is then to use nlyte Software to help manage the EMEA-wide consolidation and migration project and to retro-fit the solution alongside other new power management technologies, into the consolidated EMEA data centre estate.
“The ability to gain insight and drive performance throughout the data centre will be imperative for ACS and our DCPM Suite will enable them to do just that” said Jon Temple, President and CEO of nlyte Software. “Working together, we will be helping ACS to maximise the efficiency and performance of their data centres while simultaneously supporting their green initiatives to cut carbon emissions and minimise energy consumption”.
