Danish IT Consultancy Selects Nlyte Software for Seamless Data Center Migration & Enhanced Performance

NNIT Swaps ‘Old School’ Spreadsheets & Visio for the Nlyte DCIM Suite

Menlo Park, CA – June 28, 2011 – nlyte Software, a leading provider of performance-based solutions for Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM), today announced that NNIT, one of Denmark’s leading IT consultancies, has selected the nlyte DCIM solution to help it migrate its existing equipment to a brand new data center facility, and replace the organization’s current spreadsheet and Visio management tools to ensure increased performance and compliance with green legislation within its data center environment.

Owned by Novo Nordisk A/S, and with roots in the pharmaceutical industry, NNIT specialises in IT development, implementation and operations, supplying services to meet ‘regulated industries’’ highest requirements for quality and standardisation.  Headquartered in Bagsvaerd, Denmark, with a sales office in Zurich, Switzerland, and delivery centers in Tianjin (China), Manila (the Philippines) and Olomouc (the Czech Republic), NNIT delivers a wide range of services from initial analysis to development, hosting to full outsourcing, support, maintenance and ongoing management.

When making the move to its new data center facility near the company headquarters, NNIT decided that it needed to overhaul the way in which it managed its data center assets.  Previously, the consultancy had relied on individually maintained spreadsheets and Visio reports to manage its resources – however, to ensure best practices, increase efficiency, reliability and sustainability, and to meet its own corporate objectives, NNIT required a solution that would provide real-time insight across its data center.

Working together with key supplier BMC Software in Denmark, NNIT narrowed down the search to the nlyte DCIM suite and a competitive offering from Aperture.  NNIT then chose nlyte based on technical recommendations from well regarded industry peers plus nlyte Software’s emphasis on building strong customer relations.  The nlyte Control (workflow execution) module was also a key aspect of the decision, due to NNIT’s focus on regulated industries.

“It was clear that the nlyte DCIM suite would be the right solution to support our goals, giving us a near real-time dashboard view of all of our assets and a sophisticated level of workflow management,” said Mads Claus Henriksen, data center manager at NNIT.  “The flexibility of nlyte’s user-friendly interface makes it extremely easy to manage on an ongoing basis, which will really benefit our business when it comes to our forthcoming expansion plans.”  Added Mads, “We work closely with BMC Software so the fact that nlyte Software is a BMC partner was also important to us.”

NNIT plans to deploy nlyte across 400 racks within its new 2,000 square meter data center, which guarantees availability and was built to deliver 50 years of uninterrupted operations by complying with the most stringent market demands for security, stable operations and quality. This investment supports the company’s goal of becoming the top Nordic data center provider and leader in energy efficiency and green IT, with a target PUE (power usage effectiveness) metric of 1.3.

“In the face of increasing government regulation, organizations are finally realizing the way in which they monitor, manage and control their data centers will be crucial to the overall success of their business – both in terms of easing the day-to-day data center management responsibilities and by establishing a green reputation.” said Jon Temple, President and CEO of nlyte Software. “We are thrilled to have been selected by NNIT to support them in such a strategically important project and are excited to showcase their data center as one of the most energy efficient and environmentally friendly in Europe.”
