Nlyte Software Partners With RFID Global Solution To Simplify Data Center Asset Management

Nlyte Software Integrates RFID technology into Data Center Infrastructure Management Solution for Real Time, End-to-End Planning

Menlo Park, CA – April 11, 2011 – nlyte Software, a leading provider of performance-based solutions for Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM), today announced its partnership with RFID Global Solution, Inc., a real-time asset visibility software provider, which will enable organizations to deploy an integrated RFID solution  to track and manage assets within the data center.  Radio frequency identification (RFID) technology enables the physical and theoretical infrastructure of a data center to be completely in sync, giving organizations extensive control throughout their data center environment.

RFID Global’s Visi-Trac RFID solution allows data center managers to track multiple assets within a data center through a simple scanning mechanism.  This information is instantly correlated with a continuously updated central database to achieve a thorough, accurate and real time view of the data center environment, accessible to all those who need the information.  The integration with nlyte enables automatic synchronization with Visi-Trac, enabling users to take advantage of nlyte’s DCIM capabilities and helps IT organizations in making the data center audit process faster, records more accurate and facilities more secure.

According to a recent brief* by Tim Zimmerman, Principal Research Analyst with Gartner, “Passive RFID solutions can provide a tenfold improvement over manually taking inventory for data center assets to meet compliance and auditing requirements.  Also, RFID technology can be used to track and map personnel to data center assets. This process guarantees that only authorized personnel are moving equipment.”

The integration between nlyte’s DCIM software and RFID Global’s Visi-Trac solution will significantly reduce the time it takes to model, and move, add and change (MAC) the data center environment and also greatly increases the level of accuracy of data center information.

“Trends in virtualization and cloud computing continue to result in dramatic investments in data center technologies. Executives must therefore have a sense of urgency around harnessing the critical resources of power, space and cooling now, before the financial and environmental consequences get out of control,” said Jon Temple, president and CEO of nlyte Software.  “Our partnership with RFID Global provides customers with a fully integrated, state-of-the-art solution that dramatically simplifies the way in which physical assets are managed.”

“The combined RFID Global and nlyte solution provides a quantum leap improvement over traditional IT asset management methods, especially given the increasingly dynamic movements of assets within data centers and need to flow that information into inventory and financial systems,” added Diana Hage, CEO, RFID Global Solution.
