Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) Free Assessment Report

Introduction
The CRC is the UK's mandatory climate change and energy saving scheme due to start in April 2010. It is central to the UK’s strategy for improving energy efficiency and reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, as set out in the Government’s Climate Change Act 2008. It has been designed to raise awareness in large organisations, especially at senior level and it encourages changes in behaviour and infrastructure.

nlyte Software supports businesses with their measurement of energy inline with the CRC by providing a means to measure usage and growth of usage within the data centre, with the ability to predict future carbon allowances. This document outlines the process for loading and running a CRC assessment from the nlyte system as part of the UK CRC marketing campaign.

What We Need From You!
The nlyte system needs to be preloaded with equipment and location data for the CRC assessment to run the more data that is provided the more accurate the assessment will be. To make the process of collecting data for the assessment as painless as possible for the prospect and to provide a view into what the assessment would look like with real data, the following averaging data needs to be collected.

• The names of the locations/data centres to be modelled within the assessment
• A list of equipment items or materials that can be found within 10 standard cabinets within their organisation as an average base block.
• The estimated number of cabinets within their organisation, this will be used as a multiplier for the base block to enrich the nlyte database inline with their organisations average cabinet equipment loads.
