Board of Directors

Rob Bearden, Chairman of the Board

Rob is an experienced software executive and entrepreneur. Mr. Bearden co-founded Hortonworks and served as Chief Executive Officer from February 2012 until January 3, 2019 and served as its Chairman of the Board until January 3, 2019 when Hortonworks merged with Cloudera. He has made significant contributions in the open source community both advising and running successful companies throughout the years.

Doug Sabella, President and Chief Executive Officer

Doug Sabella is the President and CEO of Nlyte software with over 25 years experience in growing and leading private and public software companies. Doug is responsible for setting the company direction and business strategy.

Doug joins Nlyte from Dialogic Corporation where he served as President and COO. Prior to joining Dialogic via acquisition in 2010, Doug was the President and CEO of Veraz Networks which he joined in 2004 and led to a successful IPO in 2007. Mr. Sabella also served as chief operating officer of Terayon, and Tumbleweed Communications Corp., and served as the president and chief executive officer of Bidcom. Mr. Sabella has also held various senior management positions at Lucent Technologies.

Doug holds a BA in Finance and Economics from Hofstra University.

Bernard Liautaud, Director

Bernard Liautaud is managing partner with Balderton Capital and is a Director for Nlyte Software.

Prior to joining Balderton Capital, Bernard Liautaud founded Business Objects in 1990 and was CEO for 15 years then Chairman until January 2008. With 6,700 employees, 45,000 customers and $1.5 billion of revenue in 2007, Business Objects was the world leader in Business Intelligence and one of the 15 largest software companies in the world. Business Objects was the first European software IPO on NASDAQ in 1994. In January 2008, Business Objects was acquired by SAP for $6.8 billion, making it the third largest software acquisition at the time.

Bernard is now a member of the SAP Supervisory Board and its strategy committee. He is also a member of Cap Gemini’s board and its strategy committee. He has received a number of distinctions including “Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur” in 2007 in France, Time Magazine Europe’s Digital Top 25 and BusinessWeek Stars of Europe of 2002, Top 10 CEOs in North America by Chief Executive Magazine in 2001.

Bernard holds a Diplôme d’Ingénieur, Ecole Centrale de Paris and a Master of Science in Engineering Management from Stanford University

John Moreton, Director

With a strong track record in building successful companies and management teams internationally, John Moreton has over 30 years’ experience in the formation and management of a diverse range of companies across the marketing, manufacturing and service sectors. John is an investor and Director of Nlyte Software.

Rosemary L. Ripley, Director

Rosemary L. Ripley is a Managing Director of NGEN. In addition to her Board seat at Nlyte Software, Rosemary currently sits on the boards of Bare Snacks, Zevia, and Hyla Mobile.

Prior to NGEN, Rosemary was a senior executive at Altria Group (previously Philip Morris Companies), where she was responsible for Corporate Business Development worldwide from 1990-2005. She led teams that invested heavily in emerging markets and transformed Kraft Foods with the $19 billion acquisition of Nabisco and subsequent IPO of Kraft Foods. Rosemary also played a key role in transforming Miller Brewing Company into an international enterprise with the merger with South African Breweries.

Prior to joining Altria, Rosemary was a Managing Director at Furman Selz, and a senior investment banker at L.F. Rothschild, Unterberg, Towbin. Previously, she worked for Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan where she supported the Senator’s work on the Committee for Environment and Public Works.

Rosemary co-founded Circle Financial Group, a multi-family office, and sits on the Advisory Board of the Yale Center for Business and the Environment. Rosemary received both her BA, cum laude, and MBA at Yale University.
