Nlyte’s Federal Data Center Optimization Expertise Tapped by MeriTalk

Company VP Discusses DCOI Guidelines in Energy Savings Discussion

SAN MATEO, Calif., — October 21, 2016 — Nlyte Software today announced that the company’s Regional Vice President of Federal Accounts, Andrew Ryan, has been invited by MeriTalk to address Data Center Optimization Initiative (DCOI) best practices at the October 27 Accelerating Data Center Transformation event.  Ryan will join panelists Michael Ross, Federal HP Enterprise and Dr. Timothy Unruh, Director, Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) Department of Energy for a panel discussion titled, “Funding and Energy Savings.”  The event will be held from 10:45 –11:30 a.m. at the Washington, DC Newseum.

The Accelerating Data Center Transformation event is focused on the current state of data centers and the path forward for data center transformation and optimization. Experts and thought leaders will offer insight on the latest technological innovations and best practices for a successful transformation.

As of March 2016, DCOI requires all federal data centers to install Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) software and report on strategies to address inefficient processes, optimize existing facilities, achieve cost savings, and transition to more efficient operations.  Ryan’s “Funding and Energy Savings” panel discussion will offer tips and guidelines on how federal agencies can meet these new DCOI requirements.

“Federal data center facilities often lack the technology needed to give administrators full visibility into operations,” Ryan said. “DCIM brings a sophisticated and automated monitoring system that provides meaningful insights that are needed to meet DCOI’s requirements. I look forward to discussing DCIM’s advantages with attendees at the Accelerating Data Center Transformation event.”

The report by 451 Research “U.S. federal government mandates DCIM” estimates that approximately 30 agencies have deployed a DCIM solution to date.  Nlyte counts 23 Federal customers as deploying or actively using their solution within Civilian, DoD and Intelligence agencies.  Many of these selected Nlyte based on its DCIM solution’s capability of meeting all of the DCOI requirements.
