When eighteen state agencies depend on you for reliable computing infrastructure, you must ensure your data centers are run efficiently and dependably. That’s why a few years ago, the team at the State of Michigan moved to use Nlyte Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) software. The Data Center team at the State of Michigan used spreadsheets to manage the environment. They developed homegrown tools leveraging Access and SQL Server as the environment grew. Quickly, scalability, data center technology changes, and the complexity of managing a multi-tenant environment overwhelmed the tools. Doing their due diligence, the team had a group of DCIM vendors provide a Proof-of-Concept demonstration to test each one’s ability to meet the State of Michigan’s requirements.
